Firstly, dissolve UHMWPE in a suitable solvent, and make it a semi-dilute solution. Secondely, extrude it through the spinneret, quench the spinning solution with air or water to solidify it into lyophilized protofilaments. Almost all of the solvent is included in the lyophilized collagen filament, so it means the untangled state of the UHMWPE macromolecular chain is well preserved.
The drop in the solution temperature leads to the formation of the UHMWPE folded chain lamellae crystals in the lyophilized gel.
In this way, the lyophilized collagen filaments can be fully oriented and highly crystallized by hyperthermal stretching, and then the macromolecules with folded chains can be transformed into elongated chains, thus producing this high-strength and high-modulus fiber.
